Civil Protection Department firefighters in Gozo responded to a fire in a residence in Qala, on Tuesday evening.

Two people received assistance from the Gozo General Hospital Emergency Department medical team and were admitted to hospital for further treatment following smoke inhalation.

The fire was brought under control and firefighters carried out ventilation procedures to clear smoke from the building.

The CPD expressed its thanks to the medical team and Malta Police Force officers for their support during the operation.
