Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Dr Alex Agius Saliba, paid a courtesy visit to the
Victoria Local Council offices this week.
Mayor of Victoria, Brian Azzopardi said that ”during this cordial meeting, we discussed various topics of interest to the Local
Council and our community, including the prestigious title of European Capital of Culture.”
He added that the meeting was positive and friendly, with Dr Agius Saliba expressing his willingness to offer his full support to the
Local Council as it continues to work for the benefit of Victoria and the Gozitan community.
At the of the meeting Dr Agius Saliba was presented a copy of Victoria’s Cultural Strategy and Victoria’ s winning bid book for
the European Capital of Culture.
The Victoria Local Council expressed its thanks to Dr Agius Saliba for his visit and for the support he has pledged to the Council.
”Together, for a stronger Victoria and a future full of opportunities,” the Mayor said.
