Ghajnsielem Local Council, Gozo, Bethlehem f’ Ghajnsielem Foundation and Bethlehem Town Council are currently having discussions about the possibility of starting an official relationship or even a twinning agreement between Ghajnsielem and the town of Bethlehem in the Middle.

Recently, Dr Joe Mifsud, and expert in the field of Middle East issues and author of the book ‘Bethlehem: Fil-qtiegh il-qalb it-tama,’ was in Bethlehem to discuss if the possibilities exist to start such links. Dr. Mifsud has a residence in Ghajnsielem and takes an active interest in the nativity village project.

A teleconference was recently held between the Ghajnsielem Mayor, Francis Cauchi and the Mayor of Bethlehem, Victor Baterseh. The nativity village, which was held at ‘Ta Passi’ fields, Ghajnsielem last December was high on the agenda.
