The extremely popular International Kite & Wind Festival returns to Gharb, Gozo, for another year, on the 15th and 16th of October.
Colourful kites in all forms and sizes will form an incredible display to entertain the thousands of visitors expected at the San Dimitri area of the locality.
This 5th edition of the festival, organised by the Gharb Local Council with the support of the Cultural Heritage Directorate within the Ministry for Gozo, will be open between 10.00am and 5.30pm on both days.
Internationally renowned kite fliers will be performing acrobatic kite tricks and routines to music and there will also be kite making workshops.
The event will feature a stunning and colourful display of the art of kite making that reflects the tradition of kites around the world, with many kites in the sky and on the ground for visitors to enjoy and admire.
There will also be kites on sale, a children’s area, food and drink vendors, live music, a traditional fair and more.
Gharb Mayor David Apap Agius said, “we are once again proud to host such a unique and lively event in our beautiful countryside. This event is always a highlight of the autumn events calendar, and we look forward to welcome those flying kites from all over the world, to share their expertise and talents with us all.”
More details will be provided closer to the dates.
