The Malta Hotels and Restaurant Association said that it has teamed up with BeeGuides Ltd to officially launch a new website offering the most complete online list of restaurants, snacks bars and wine bars in Malta & Gozo. The www.dineinmalta.com website features all catering establishments licensed with the Malta Tourism Authority, and provides information according to cuisine, type of outlet, locality and area of specialty – all in an easy to use manner.

The need to have a comprehensive website featuring all catering establishments, has long been felt, as dining out is becoming increasingly more popular. This venture follows MHRA’s strategy to promote the Malta and Gozo restaurants and other catering outlets both for business and pleasure, with tourists and locals alike. It also serves as a platform for MHRA to reach out to the catering trade and to encourage and recognise quality in service.

BeeGuides Ltd will be managing the website, and will undertake to carry out joint promotional activities, together with MHRA. Representatives from BeeGuides Ltd will be conducting one-to- one visits to licensed catering outlets in order to assist and encourage establishments to market their outlets and services in a more effective manner. MHRA is, in the meantime, working on a ‘Recommended Label’ scheme for restaurateurs which will be launched shortly. This scheme will award those establishments that demonstrate a commitment to deliver quality and value for money to customers. This label will provide customers with a quality assurance and professional management of the establishment. The establishments would need to have embraced a set of criteria that guarantees the provision of a good level of service, food quality and a commitment towards excellence and good practices of the catering trade. The restaurants that are awarded the ‘Recommended Label’ will be promoted through www.dineinmalta.com
