The stories covered in this weeks issue are:

1. Bishop Nikol Cauchi said: “Catholics should follow Christ’s teaching and not wordly trends.”

Mgr Cauchi, who was delivering a homily during Mass at Ta’ Hamet church on the feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, said Christ made it clear that divorce was wrong, and people knew it was not a solution to family problems, but rather complicated matters. Mgr Cauchi called on the faithful to pray to the Virgin Mary to protect Maltese families.

2. On the solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul, princes of the apostles, Bishop Mario Grech led a concelebrated pontifical mass at the Nadur basilica. After the homily, he presented the Qalb Generuza annual award to Alan Zammit . This twelve year-old boy offers a helping hand to all youths, attending the male MUSEUM of his native village of Nadur.

3. Tune ‘n Concert. July now has become synonymous with the Annual Musical Concert – A Show organized by the St. Gregory Band of Kercem. Under the directorship of Mro. Mark Gauci, a vast selection of music has been performed at Pjazza Orvieto, Kercem.

Following the success of Checked ‘n Yellow, and Gold ‘n Pop, this year, the St. Gregory Band stayed tuned with a selection of Pop music from all times, ranging from the early nineteenth century up to present times. Masterpieces executed included works of the impeccable Frank Sinatra and the immortal Beatles with a total of 12 pieces from all times.
