The Malta Red Cross Gozo Branch has said that the Second Edition of the Marsalforn Blood Drive will be taking place on Sunday, the 29th of August 2010, from 9.00am till 2.00pm, at the Calypso Hotel, in Marsalforn. The blood donation clinic is being orgainsed by The Red Cross.
Members of the public are being encouraged to go and donate blood. Just one pint of donated blood can help save as many as three people’s lives.
The Gozo Branch of the Malta Red Cross said they would like to thank the Calypso hotel management, and the Marsalforn Catholic community for the support they are offering.
A the last blood drive, they were unable to accept blood donations from anyone who has lived in the UK for more than 6 months – is this still the case ?
Yes, it is still the case. Those who lived in UK for more than 6 months especially if it happened between 1980 – 1986 cannot donate blood at the moment but keep checking, this doesn’t mean that it will be like this forever.
