A delegation from the Xaghra Local Council left today on an official visit to Italy for a meeting of European villages and cities which produce figs as one of their typical products. The group will be returning on Tuesday the 31st of August. The councils of Giungano and Carmignano will also be present.

The delegation is led by Xaghra Mayor Mr. Joseph Cordina together with the Vice Mayor Dr. Christian Zammit, local councilors Mary Carmen Bajada and Dr. Kevin Cutajar, the Executive Secretary Mr. Joseph Azzopardi and Assistant Principal Josephine Sultana together with some of their relatives.

The Xaghra Folk group, led by Jennifer Attard and accompanied by local musicians, will present a folkloristic evening on Saturday, the 28th of August, between 8.30pm and 10.00pm during the exhibition of typical fig-made products.
