The Parliamentary Secretariat for the Elderly and Community Care together with Mount Carmel Hospital is inviting suitable candidates to follow a Care Assistant Course in Mental Health Setting which is inclusive of theory and practice.

This 4-month full time course will start on the 11th of October 2010. Lectures and practical components will be held from Monday to Friday.

Applications are being accepted strictly by hand from Monday, the 6th of September 2010 to Thursday, the 16th of September 2010 between 9.00am and 12.00pm at the Accounts Section, Mount Carmel Hospital, Attard.

Applications can be collected from the Nurse Education Unit, Mount Carmel Hospital. Filled in applications must include a Police Conduct, a School leaving Certificate and copies of any Academic Certificates, plus a payment of €75, which will be refunded if a candidate is found to be not suitable to follow this course. This is the first time such a course is being offered. The Secretariat aims at further strengthening the services being offered within the mental health sector.
