All of the eighteen panels that form part of the Mnajdra Temples’ shelter have now been installed. The temples will be open to visitors from Thursday the 9th of April, until Sunday the 19th of April. Hagar Qim Temples will also remain open throughout this period.
Mnajdra Temples will then close until the end of April for the closure of works on the protective shelter, to re-open permanently to the public on the 1st of May 2009.
Hagar Qim Temples will close throughout May for the installation of the fabric of the protective shelter, re-opening early in June.
The public is reminded that all Heritage Malta sites will be closed on Good Friday, the 10th of April 2009.
What worries me is the fact that this thing looks like a giant hang-glider. Given the speed the wind can reach sometimes how long will it be before this takes off, possible causing damage to the temples in the process?
