The Prekursur Band of Xewkija has said today thay it has called off it’s participation in the Xaghra feast, which it was due to take part in this evening. This decision was made by the committee in solidarity with Jean Pierre Azzopardi, who was one of the victims of last Sunday’s fireworks factory explosion in Gharb.

The committee said in it’s statelment that Jean Pierre Azzopardi had had a close connection with the youth section of the Prekursur Band.

This morning’s march at Xaghra was cancelled and instead the Beland Band of Zejtun, played band marches in front of the Victory Club in Xaghra.
