The MEPA Board has today approved the re-development of the Victoria bus terminus in Gozo, with the primary purpose of bringing the present bus terminus facility in line with the Transport reform strategy for an improved public transport system.
The project will include major landscaping works, the creation of a covered walkway and the construction of a terminal building as well as an administration building within the existing site.
The boarding bays for buses will be reduced from the present level and a number of bays will be created for passengers alighting from the vehicles.
The landscaping taking place in the bus terminus will include the re-positioning of protected trees on site whilst others will be removed.
