The Don Bosco Oratory of Gozo, with the collaboration of various other entities, is organising ‘Zghazagh Fest’ – four days of special activities for Gozo youths due to be held between the 7th and the 10th of October. These activities are being organised at the beginning of a new social year which will eventually culminate in the celebration of the next World Youth Day, which is due to be held next August in Madrid.

A group of youths from the Don Bosco Oratory have been hard at work preparing for the four days of activities for the past few months. The aim is to encourage youths to look ahead and bring out their potential in various fields, namely art, music, dance and culture. And since 2011 will be the International Year dedicated to Voluntary Work, this four-day celebration will place a special emphasis on youths participation in this regard.

The highlights of ‘Zghazagh Fest’ will be a ‘Youth Band Concert & Fashion Night’ in St. Augustine’s Square on Saturday the 9th of October from 8.30pm onwards, featuring, amongst others, ‘Chasing Pandora.’

The climax will be reached on Sunday the 10th of October from 5.00pm onwards with a Dance Show with the participation of various Dance-Schools, the launching of World Youth Day Madrid 2011 during an open-air Mass animated by a youth band and a dancing troupe, and then later on in the evening, with a rock session.

The weekend’s final concert will be performed by ‘Cash & Band.’

Most of these activities will be held in St. Augustine’s Square in Victoria, however, in the case of inclement weather, the activities will be transferred indoors at the Don Bosco Oratory.

All activities will be free of charge. Everyone, especially adolescents, youths and the young at heart, are invited to join this four-day celebration.
