For every purchase transaction effected by means of a BOV debit or credit card between, today the 25th of October and the 30th of November 2010, Bank of Valletta will donate 5 euro cents to Caritas Malta through the BOV ‘Cards for Charity’ Campaign.
The campaign was launched during a press conference held at Bank of Valletta’s Head Office and addressed by Michael Galea, Chief Officer Operations at Bank of Valletta and Mgr Victor Grech, Director and Anglu Fenech, administrative secretary of Caritas Malta.
“Caritas Malta depends heavily on donations to continue to offer their services, free of charge to people in need,” said Mgr Grech. “We would like to encourage the public to make use of their BOV cards, so that through the Bank’s donation, Caritas Malta are in a position to provide the highest possible levels of service to our ‘customers.”
“Through this campaign, Bank of Valletta cardholders have the opportunity to raise thousands of euros in aid of Caritas Malta without incurring any additional costs,” said Mr Galea.
Mr Galea continued by saying that, “the more people use their BOV cards to settle their purchases during the month of November, the higher the donation that Bank of Valletta will present to Caritas Malta.”
“The campaign, which is being organized as part of Bank of Valletta’s extensive Community Programme, provides our customers with an added incentive to purchase with their cards”, continued Mr Galea. “Customers will benefit from the advantages of this efficient method of payment, with Caritas Malta gaining from each and every transaction effected through the Bank’s strong involvement within the Maltese Community.”
