A Gozitan court this morning found Dr Chris Said not guilty of perjury claims. He was arrainged a month ago on the charges. The court was presided over by Magistrate Edwina Grima.
It is expected that Dr Said will resume his post of parliamentary secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister sometime this week.
Dr Said had resigned from his post on September the 23rd, after criminal proceedings were brought against him by the Police Commisioner for allegedly commiting perjury under oath when testifying in a child custody case. Before the trial started the Prime Minister said that he looked forward to reappointing Dr Said to his former post as soon as proceedings were over.
Congratulations Dr Said. Hopefully, next week, we shall see you back in the position you were before the 23rd September 2010 to continue with your very good work.
I’m glad that Dr Said was cleared of charges. I hope that no time will be wasted to give him back his post of parliamentary secretary!
