The village of San Lawrenz, Gozo, has, for many years had a special connection with Christmas, this link goes back over seventy years. Originally the village was connected with organising a musical drama story of Christmas, attracting hundreds of Gozitans, year after year to follow the event.

Over sixty years later the village then decided to organise an activity that appealed to the modern day and began staging the Christmas Pageant, which gets under way from the main door of the Parish Center continuing around the main streets of the village.

The Pageant story begins in the garden of Eden and continues to the manger in Bethlehem. Initially it started off as a small Pageant, but it then went on to grom from strength to strength. Over the years this Pageant has undergone several improvements to create interest to both those who participate and those who follow this story on Christmas eve.

Something that is particular to this Pageant is the fact that almost all the locality of San Lawrenz, either participate, or contributes towards this Pageant. Activities get under wasy several weeks before, as many people dedicate their time and energy to this event for the day of Christmas Eve. This enables not only great entertainment but also ensures the true message of Christmas, that God sent His Son through Mary to to save everyone.

The whole community of the small village of San Lawrenz, Gozo, warmly invites everyone to join in and follow the story of this 41st Pageant , on Christmas Eve, Friday, the 24th of December. The Pageant starts from the Parish Center leaving at 8.30pm.
