The Parliamentary Secretary Chris Said visited a number of projects that the Kercem Local Council is carrying out in pursuance of a scheme designed and administered by the Parliamentary Secretary for Local Councils.

The Kercem Mayor, Joe Grima, said that works on roads in the area will be completed soon, with work on three of them being undertaken through the Private Public Partnership (PPP) scheme launched this year.

Work on the Family Garden project is well underway and is being financed through the Special Projects Scheme for Small Places. The Kercem Civic Centre utilises clean energy and less wastage. The design of the building ensures that the use of electric light is at a minimum in daylight hours, all windows are double glazed and rainwater is collected and eventually reused within the Centre, the Mayor concluded.
