Update: Liquiquigas Malta has announced that the price of gas will increase again in January with immediate effect, but are keeping them below the prices advised by the MRA. Easygas are also selling at slightly reduced prices.

Prices for gas cylinders have gone up by an average of 64%, with the slightly cheaper Easygas cylinder not being delivered to households due to the dispute of the cylinder exchange.

The Malta Resources Authourity said that distributors are obliged to sell LPG at the prices established by Liquigas (Malta) Ltd and or Easygas (Malta) Ltd, provided that the prices quoted are not exceeded. Consumers are advised to view the price lists on the distributor’s trucks prior to purchasing, and, if in doubt, consumers should obtain a receipt for any purchases. Any queries should be addressed to the respective supplier i.e. Liquigas (Malta) Ltd or EasyGas (Malta) Ltd.
