Dinja Wahda, BirdLife Malta and Bank of Valletta’s environmental education programme, is inviting primary schools to the screening of The Crimson Wing – Mystery of the Flamingos, a Disney nature documentary.

All primary schools in Malta and Gozo are being invited to this screening, which will take place daily at 10:00 from the 24th to the 28th of January, at the Eden Cinemas in St Julian’s. The Crimson Wing is showing exclusively for primary schools for which it is free.

The Crimson Wing documents the lives of Lesser Flamingos on their breeding grounds at Lake Natron in Tanzania, highlighting the difficulties they face in the wild by following the life of an orphaned baby flamingo. At an early age the baby flamingo is separated from the flock, and with no parents to look up to it must learn how to survive on its own. After overcoming difficulties and avoiding predators, the baby flamingo reaches adulthood and rejoins the flamingo flock.

Dinja Wahda invites interested primary schools to book by calling BirdLife Malta on 21 347 644/5. Seats are limited and bookings are on a first come first served basis.

The event is made possible with the generous support of Disney Nature, KRS Malta, Mr Ian De Cesare and the Eden Group.

Dinja Wahda is Bank of Valletta and BirdLife Malta’s environmental education program for primary schools, carried out in collaboration with the Directorate for Quality Standards in Education.
