On Friday, the Prime Minister, Lawrence Gonzi, inaugurated the new investment in a wind turbine undertaken by the FXB Group at their factory in Xewkija. The President congratulated FXB on the contribution that it had made to the Maltese economy.

The wind turbine can produce up to 4kw of electricity and the Prime Minister said that it was a major step towards the governments eco-Gozo vision.

The Prime Minister spoke about savings in the enviroment that had already been carried out such as energy saving light bulbs, and the subsidies on solar water heaters and phovoltaic panels among others
