Melita Malta, has introduced a subtitling service on the most favourite Italian TV stations including the RAI channels (RAI 1, RAI 2, RAI 3) and Mediaset channels (Italia 1, Rete 4, Canale 5) as well as La 7.

Following feedback and support from the National Commission for Persons with Disability (KNPD), Melita has invested in technology and resources to enable it to broadcast subtitles for channels where such service is available from channel source. In parallel to implementation of these channels, Melita will be discussing with other channels and content providers to be able to further extend the service.

Activating the subtitles service is very simple. Customers with a Digital TV box (Silver set-top-box) should press the “OPT” button, scroll down to Subtitles and then enable. Similarly on the Melita Netbox HD customers should go on any of the channel listed above in full screen mode, press OK on the remote control, and scroll down to “Subtitles”, then scroll left or right to select “Italian”. This process needs to be repeated for each channel desired to enable subtitles. Once the service is activated it will remain on until disabled.

There is no extra charge for this service, and is available on all Digital and HD set-top-boxes.
