Gozitan singers Loredana Agius aged 8 and Sarah Bonnici aged 13, travelled to Bulgaria on the 18th of August to participate in the annual international ‘Trixie International Art Festival.’ Entrants from several other countries took part, including Russia, Romania, Ukraine and Bulgaria.

The festival results were announced on the 23rd of August during a Gala Concert. Loredana Agius was placed first in category A (6-9 years) with the original song ‘Sorpresa,’ written by Christopher Azzopardi and composed by Kaya (Prisicilla Psaila). Loredana was invited to sing this song during the Gala Concert. Sarah Bonnici was awarded second place in category C (13-15 years) with her original song ‘The Mambo Song.’ Sarah was also invited to sing in the international ‘Carpathians Star Festival,’ in Brasov, Romania, from the 12-18th of December 2011.

The composer Kaya (Priscilla Psaila) with author Christopher Azzopardi also won the competition last year following the victory by Enya Magri with the song “Cu Cu.”

Loredana and Sarah, who arrived back home on Friday, the 26th of August, were helped and guided throghout their wonderful competition achievements by their vocal coaches Kaya (Prisicilla Psaila) and Miriam Christine Warner.

The girls said that their participation in the competition was made possible by Stardust Promotions (Martin Degabriele and Catherine Degabriele).
