The Xlendi Administrative Committee are once again organising ‘Il-Fjakkolata tax-Xlendi.’ The event was originally held earlier in the summer and proved to be so succesful it has been decided to repeat it over this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, the 3rd and 4th of September, at Xlendi Bay.
The event will be reviving an almost forgotten tradition when the rugged coastline of Xlendi will be illuminated with torchlight fires to commemorate the liturgical feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, the patron saint of Xlendi.
The Committee said that everyone is invited to help and add thier own torchlights or candles on balconies roofs & terraces. A little hint for balconies, large citronella candles also work perfectly and smell pleasant too!
The evenings of torchlight fires will get underway at 8.30pm.

Having just returned from our latest trip to Gozo, we will miss this. I really hope Gozo news publishes some photographs.
