Earlier today, Gozo’s Emergency Response and Rescue Corps, (E.R.R.C.) lifeguards rendered assistance to 2 people who were experiencing difficulties at Ramla Bay, Gozo. The people were caught in strong rip currents and had been experiencing swimming difficulties.
None of the casualties assisted needed further help. The E.R.R.C repeated previous warnings that it “would like to recommend that swimmers keep an eye on the colour of the flags hoisted on the lifeguard towers before swimming.
The Lifeguarding service at Ramla is being run on a daily basis till the end of September. The service is possible due to sponsorship from the from the Malta Tourism Authority to cover the running costs, Ministry for Gozo – ECO Gozo, to buy the necessary infrastructure. Support is also being provided by Transport Malta, Civil Protection Department and the Gaia Foundation.

They’ve got not choice but to keep it up, they are doing a fine job but also too many people having problems lately with the famous Ramla’s unpredictable under current occurances.
