‘Tipiku,’ being held next Saturday the 5th of November, will be a showcase of Gozitan craftsmanship and gastronomy. The event is being held in Independence Square, Victoria, under a specially erected large tent, in case of inclement weather.

In the morning between 9.00am and 2.00pm there will be a display of arts, crafts and local delicacies which have been produced by Gozitan craftsman and artists. There will also be a show of folk music and dance by the Sinnet Folk Group.

To continue in the evening, between 6.30pm and 10.30pm there will be time to dine and relax, or if you prefer, then just to try some of the local dishes and local Gozitan wines.

There will be entertainment to accompany the dining by way of traditional, classical and popular music, provided by Ta’ Verna Folk Music, Cordia String Quartet and the Tramps. The entertainment will continue until midnight.

There will also be a display of around 130  classic cars in Republic Street, organised by Federazzjoni Maltija Vetturi Antiki (FMVA).

‘Tipiku’ is being organised by the Ministry for Gozo, who said that “the scope of this event matches directly with the eco-Gozo’s objective of protecting the Gozitan lifestyle, culture and identity. Moreover during the gastronomic event no plastic plates and glasses will be used, contributing directly to the eco-Gozo vision. Kikku will also be present during the evening event.”
