The Arka Foundation has purchased and installed a new electricity generator for emergency power cut cases. This new generator replaced one that was 45-years old and was also very heavy in both noise and air pollution. New energy saving lighting has also been installed in the centre.

The Foundation has benefited from approximately € 50,000 from the eco-Gozo Scheme launched by the Ministry for Gozo. This represents 95% of the total costs of the project.

During a visit to the Arka Respite Centre in Ghajnsielem, the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, had the opportunity to meet with the management of the Arka Foundation who explained the current project

The new electricity generator will produce less noise, at almost 15dB (A) less than the other generator, while the new lights will save approximately 8,354 watts per hour.
