Gozo’s Victoria Scout Group is benefiting from funding of around €29,000 from the Ministry for Gozo to be used for building a water reservoir in the headquarters yard, as well as purchase containers for waste separation. This project is being funded through the scheme of eco-Gozo for Gozitan Non-Governmental Organisations, related to the action plan for eco-Gozo from 2010 to 2012.

The Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono visited the headquarters of the Victoria Scout Group where she met with officials and members of this group, as well as view the ongoing work on the the reservoir, which is well advanced.

The Minister praised the work of the Scout Group with the young children in Gozo and on the Group’s initiative of collecting and conserving rainwater for use in the building. She added that the “responsible use of water is essential in the work of government for a sustainable future helping to make Gozo an ecological island.”
