‘Youth Gozo’ weekend was a complete success with the participation of over 200 Gozitan youths during the weekend in four main activities.
Agenzija Zghazagh, together with JP2 Youths and Gozo University Group (GUG), organised the whole weekend which started off with a structural dialogue about volunteering, a classical concert, Conference on Volunteering entitled ‘Volunteering on an Island Region’ and closing the activities with a Youth Art Expo.
These activities were held on the occasion of the UN ‘International Year of Youth’ and the ‘European Year of Volunteering.’ Such activities empowered Gozitan Youths and gave them the opportunity to express their views and concerns about the Gozitan society. The crucial role of Volunteering in Gozo was pointed out and an overview of the history of volunteering was also presented.
A publication with regards the United Nations global goals was launched during the conference.
Furthermore the potential of the Gozitan youths was both intellectually and artistically demonstrated and the ideal of investing in the Gozitan youths for the future of Gozo was a predominant conclusion from these activities.
The organising team would also like to thank for their collaboration in the event, the Wistin Camilleri Gozo Centre for Art and Crafts, Citadella Center for Cultrue & Arts, Bishop Seminary and Conservatory, Sir M.A. Refalo, Student’s Voice, Gozo NGO’s Association, Arka Foundation, Rotary Club Gozo and Cordia.
