The Cittadella Centre for Culture & Arts is currently hosting a personal exhition of scultpures & paintings ‘Armonie Emotive’ by Rachele Bianchi.

Considered by international critics to be one of the most interesting Italian sculptors and witness of a certain era, invested with the Career Award on the occasion of the XIV edition of the Arts and Culture Award and the Ignazio Silone Award for Culture, XVIII edition, Rachele Bianchi started her activity by devoting herself to temperas on paper and pencil drawing, discovering only at a later stage, an interest in volume and sculpture.

Initially, her favorite themes were of a religious nature. Very soon, however, the real protagonist of her most mature and accomplished works became womens’ universe, depicted in all its various expressions and expressed on paper, in bronze, marble and terracotta, with an incredible sensibility and intensity.

In Italy, some of her monumental works are placed in museums, churches, squares and libraries (Milan’s Duomo, Piazza Vittorio Veneto at Castellamonte (Torino), Piazza Parrasio in Cosenza, Parco di Marnate (Varese), the Museum of Portofino, the Public Library in Morbegno (Varese), the City Hall of Teglio (Sondrio), Milano-Rho Intern.

On the occasion of the Manoel Theatre’s 2011/2012 season opening concert, the artist donated a 164 cm tall bronze statue to the Theatre Museum, which is currently also on display at the Gozo Citadel exhibition.

The exhibition is open to the public in the St John’s Hall – Cittadella Centre for Culture & Arts, The Citadel – Victoria – Gozo, till January 8th 2012.
