Speaking in parliament, the Prime Minister listed the total number of Gozitan workers in Malta during the last number of years. In 1999, there were 952 Gozitan government employees in Malta.

The year with the lowest total was 2000, when there were only 660 Gozitans working across in Malta.

This figure increased steadily between 2001 and 2005, when it stood at 893. Last year there was a total of 752 Gozitans working in government and national entities based in Malta.
