The Milky Way could be seen in all its glory on Wednesday night, and this beautiful photo by Maggie Bajada was taken with Dwejra Tower below, during a New moon phase and as a plane was passing by.

Dwejra is designated a Dark Sky Heritage Area, and according to the Institute of Space Sciences and Astronomy and the Astronomical Society of Malta, it is the best place on the Maltese islands from where to observe the splendour of the Milky Way.
