The Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority has said in a statement this afternoon that following meetings and discussions with Melita, it was decided that in the best interest of the consumer, the company will ensure its customers receive more information about changes to their service. They will also get a number of days within which to inform the company whether they would like to take up a new 15 Mbps package, those customers will have a letter included with their next bill informing them of the details.

Customers who do not take up this option will still enjoy a free upgrade from five to seven Mbps, the MCCA said.

The MCCA concluded its statement by saying that it will continue working to ensure that all operators in the sector give the required importance to their legal obligations as established by law.
