At a meeting held yesterday evening between UHM and Gozo Channel employees it was decided that the new proposals that had been put forward by the company were not acceptable.
The Union Haddiema Maghqudin (UHM) will today present new proposals to the company management in a bid to resolve the current industrial dispute over a new collective agreement.
At midday today there will be a meeting between the Ministry of Finance, Economy and Investment, which has the responsibility for Gozo Channel, along with officials of the UHM in order to try and reach an agreement between the two parties.
Another meeting will be then called between the union and Gozo Channel employees if an agreement cannot be found.
The ferry service will continue to be provided today, the union said, with the same directives in place.
