Friday was the last day of the Gozo Week on Campus with a Grand Closing Event which featured a flash mob with the participation of Gozitan talents and dancers and over 100 Maltese students attending the closing of this important week.

The day started with a visit by the Opposition spokesperson for Higher Education, University, Research and Culture, Dr Owen Bonnici, followed by an emotional memorial lecture on Paul Spiteri for which his wife was present. Paul Spiteri was a former English and Systems of Knowledge teacher at Sir Michelang Refalo Centre for Further Studies in Gozo. The lecture was given by Dr Catania, a friend of the late Paul Spiteri.

After the lecture, Parliamentary Secretary, Dr Chris Said, also visited the event and shared his experiences of when he himself was a Gozitan student at the university.

GUG said it would like to thank all the sponsors, especially the Ministry for Gozo and Eco-Gozo who made their event a great success, all the people who visited their stands in the past week, the bands and djs who entertained the students, the photographers who showcased their talents in the photo exhibition, the lecturers who gave their time to provide a public lecture or debate and last but not least, to all the students who showed their continuous support by visiting the stands.
