The busy 2011-2012 theatre season at Gozo’s Teatru Aurora will come to a spectacular end with two big musical shows in less than a month, with D.R.E.A.M.S. XOW in April followed by the Mamma Mia Dance Show in May.

On Saturday, April the 14th 2012, the Aurora will present D.R.E.A.M.S. XOW by Rewind Productions. After two instant sell-out shows in Malta and a largely popular third show at St Agatha’s College in Rabat (Malta), the theatre-show by the renowned television drama troupe is crossing over to Gozo.

The theatre said that D.R.E.A.M.S. XOW ticket sales have into the first hundreds in just under two days. A taster of the musical show was given at the opening of the Malta finals of the Eurovision Song Contest. The show will present two hours of mainly music, song and dance as written and composed by the team of Rewind Productions.

Tickets for the Gozo Show are on sale at €12.00 from the ticket hotline 79045779 or via email info@leone.org.mt.D.R.E.A.M.S. XOW will be presented on the Saturday following Easter, April 14th 2012, starting at 8pm. Theatre doors are open at 7.15pm.D.R.E.A.M.S. XOW will be followed by Mamma Mia Dance Show – a dance interpretation of the world-renowned musical Mamma Mia which is based on the songs of ABBA.

Mamma Mia will bring on stage a mixed cast from the Aurora Theatre and Pieds Dansants, the collaborating production houses and the Gozo School of Drama. The dance show will present a true-to-the-story musical narrative of a girls quest to find her father prior to her wedding day which in the end she relinquishes, only to be taken by her own mother and newly-found father.

The Mamma Mia musical numbers, need neither any introduction nor any augmentation in order to transmit the Mediterranean free-spirited way of living on a Greek island and summer resort. However, the production team is working hard on set, costumes and production. Efforts are set to take the audience on a journey to the idyllic Greek island Kalokairi, where everyone can have a blast with Sophie, Donna and the former (yet still-going-strong) Dynamos Tanya and Rosie, and all their friends.

Tickets are on sale at €10 (adults) and €6 (children under 10 years) from ticket hotline 99447625 or from Bargate Bookshop, Victoria.

Mamma Mia Dance Show will be presented on Saturday, May the 5th 2012 at 8pm. Theatre doors are open at 7.15pm.
