As part of the Joint Communication Plan for 2012 under the Management Partnership Agreement, MEUSAC is launching the National Mural Design Competition. The competition seeks to provide a platform for the involvement of creative individuals in communicating the roles of the European Union through artistic expression.
The murals are to target and attract a wide and diverse audience by means of the message being conveyed. Submitted works are to serve as a campaign intended to enhance public awareness on these topics.
In terms of eligibility, the competition is mainly open to young artists in groups of two or more, who are keen to exhibit their artistic skills. The EU themes to be reflected in the murals are:
The EU’s Single Market;
EU Citizens’ Rights;
Active Ageing and Intergenerational Solidarity;
Research and Innovation;
Resource Efficiency.
The selected submission will be awarded an honorarium of €5,000 on completion of the five murals to be drawn by the winning team during 5 local events.
