On Sunday the Prime Minister Dr Lawrence Gonzi made an official visit to the international collective exhibition ‘Gentes,’ organised by the JP2 Foundation and which was part of the Lejlet Lapsi – Notte Gozitana events.
The Prime Minister had the opportunity to view the paintings in the exhibition and was accompanied by his wife, Mrs Catherine Gonzi, the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono, the Minister for Justice Dialogue and the Family, Dr Chris Said, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry for Gozo, Frederick Azzopardi and the Mayor of Victoria Dr Samuel Azzopardi.
Dr Gonzi was shown around by Mr Joseph Masini, Chairman of the organising committee of the exhibition and Comm. Carmel Zammit, curator of the Cittadella Centre for Culture and the Arts, where ‘Gentes’ is currently being held.
Mr Masini explained how this exhibition is, for the first time introducing works from Palestinian artists in the Maltese islands, as part of its effort to promote cultural diversity.
‘Gentes’ will remain open till Wednesday, the 30th of May 2012, at the Cittadella Centre for Culture and Arts.
