Pasqualino Cefai, aged 32 of Zebbug, was today remanded in custody after he pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Joseph Portelli, in a incident which took place in the Gozo Court on Wednesday. The incident took place during a civil hearing in front of Magistrate Josette Demicoli.

The accused also pleaded not guilty to seriously injuring Mr Portelli, attempting to seriously injure Kevin Mompalao who is a lawyer, damaging court equipment, committing a crime while on bail and during the period of a suspended sentence and being a relapser.
