Diploma in Gozo Studies from October at the Gozo CampusThe University of Malta, through the Islands and Small States Institute, said that starting in October it will be offering a course at the University Gozo Campus which will lead to a Diploma in Gozo Studies.

The course will be held as a part-time study over two years, with lecture sessions being normally held on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings at the University Gozo Campus.

A variety of topics related to Gozo will be covered on the course, such as economic development, the physical environment, history, governance, culture and dialects.

By the completion of the course, students will have gained a sound knowledge of past and present realities relating to Gozo and understand the special constraints and opportunities faced by this small island.

Students would be able to link theoretical analysis to real world situations associated with the various disciplines involved in the course. Students will find such skills useful for career improvement and for personal development.

Admission to the diploma is open for candidates that satisfy the general the admission regulations of the University. Admission of mature applicants (those who will be 23 years old by the beginning of the course ) will be considered case by case, to ascertain that the applicant can follow the course with profit.
