A trip on one of the boilers at Delimara caused extensive power cuts from around 5.20am this morning, this included the whole of Gozo, along with localies in Malta, Hal Far, Zurrieq Qrendi, Tarxien, Zabbar, Marsascala, Zejtun, Xaghjra Fgura, Birgu, Gudja, Santa Lucija, Mellieha, Zebbiegh, Mgarr, Qawra, St Paul’s Bay, San Gwann, Misda.

Power was eventually restored to Gozo at around 6.15am, with Malta fully restored by around 7.00am.

In a statement Enemalta said that it apologised for any inconvenience caused when the boiler tripped.
