FATTA lauds the Malta Tourism Authority’s €2.6 million investment in the new Pembroke Gardens which was inaugurated by the Prime Minister yesterday evening.
“This project is an affirmation of the MTA’s strong commitment and hard work goes far beyond simply marketing Malta as a tourism destination. The investment and efforts that are being directed towards product development are certainly not only delivering an enhanced experience for tourists but are also being enjoyed by locals,” FATTA said.
FATTA continued that it “also congratulated the MTA management on the positive results for June 2012 in tourist arrivals (+6/2%), bed nights (+23%) and expenditure (+13%).
“The results are especially noteworthy as the year to date bed nights and expenditure show healthy increases on 2011 (which was a record year), and the trend indicates consistent improvement since March.
“The fact that these results have been achieved in a climate of adverse economic conditions in the main source markets makes them even more significant and is a testimonial to the policies and vision of the Ministry of Tourism, Environment & Culture and to the strong performance of the team at MTA.”
