Readers Letter – Hola Gozo and Malta,

My name is Yadira, I am the Mayor (ess) of the class in the High school ‘Colegio Anthony Zammit.’ Last year Fr. Anthony a Missionary priest from Gozo told you of a new school in Santa Rosa in Peru.'Colegio Anthony Zammit' High School opens in Santa RosaWell, the students of last year are now in the other High school since it was impossible to run two classes but we will go to second form in Colegio A.Z. because now with the presence of Fr. Zammit the school is going extremely well. Next year there will be 70 new students because Fr. said that there will be two First Year classes.

It is a great school and we were given the school uniforms for free, the first year book of Mathematics and today Fr. gave us these new Physical Education outfit. He is also giving us a daily Vitamin pill called Complejo B. and even a daily meal at school!

The life at the school is great and all the father asks of us is that we study and get good marks. I on behalf of the other 34 students would like to thank all those who financially help father Anthony who in return is able to help us.

God Bless you all.

P.S. we all have a Godfather or Godmother sponsoring us whom we send emails from time to time. Mine is from a town called Marsaxlokk. The Confraternity of St Peter and St Paul in Australia also helps us.

If you like to contact me write to father on santarosaayacucho@yahoo.com I will write to you back.

Bye Ti Queiro.

PALOMINO GAMBOA,

Britnei Yadira

      Hi Fr. Anthony
Great job, I’ve known you for long enough now that I can tell for sure that, apart from this school project, you have God knows how many more projects in your mind and I know that somehow you will manage to achieve all of them as long as you find financial help.
So I wish to recommend to all those who are willing to help financially to do so without hesitation bearing in mind that this is the REAL charity.

Well done Fr. Anthony. It is great to see all those children happy and well settled in their new school. Keep up your good work with the help of God. We always pray for you.

I urge all readers and other entities to help in these projects.

Santa Rosa region is one of the most poor and dangerous areas in Peru. Actually I have already started work on a small project for the people with Fr Anton and am presenting 2 new knitting machines to start a factory apart from other items like first aid and ophtalmic equipment, the last item being a donation from a confrere of mine from the Order of Malta in Malta.

However, I appeal to all Maltese charities to think about such forgotten missions like the one, of Santa Rosa which is being run by Fr Anton Zammit. Such brave people need a lot of support from logistics, funds and prayer.

Best Wishes to all and God Bless. God is with us !

Congratulations to all in Santa Rosa for this new project, especially the Colegio founder, Fr. Anthony Zammit. May God Bless you and keep up the good work.

    9. Anthony Zammit says:

I would like to thank you all for your moral support. You have no idea what great strength it gives me! My situation is not one of the best. This is a war zone and yet where I am is relatively quiet. Highway robberies, murders occur and other crimes, but where do they not happen?

I could have opened a Private school but then I would have had to charge the children. This goes against all Missionary spirit, so I founded a State High School which was not easy and not cheap. The school therefore is free but with my help it is a very special Government school.

The students also had a free uniform, sports gear, a vitamin pill daily, daily free lunch, a book of Mathematics and other things like balls, nets for Volley, shoes and toothpaste and so on. I am also paying extra teachers because the Government only pays for two full time teachers and a High School has 12 subjects.

I learned how to use excel and whenever I received a donation for the school as a sponsor I added it in the excel page, then each time I buy something the Excel does it all for me and I am up to date with accounts. For example this month I paid s/400 for the extra teachers, this was spread as s/13 to each student. It is such a nice feeling knowing that I am using each Euro for the school and not for other projects. I am very careful about this.

If you want me to send you the Excel page write to me and if you want to adopt/sponsor a student for next year €10 a month will be enough. The students will be assigned in March 2013 but I need to know ahead if there are people interested. Maybe we should wait till after the 21st December? God bless you. Fr Anthony
