On Sunday, Youth For the Environment (Y4TE) organised a clean up in the Majjistral History and Nature park. Within 45 minutes an entire skip had been filled with all kinds of rubbish; tyres, mattresses, car parts, industrial waste and so much more and yet, only a small dent was made into this land that has been used as a dumpsite for the past 30 years.

Y4TE would like to thank all who attended and kept on working despite the adverse weather. Special thanks were given to Ms Annalise Falzon for providing all the necessary equipment for the clean up and for her dedication to preserving Majjistral History and Nature park.

Y4TE said it would like to urge all the public to dispose of their rubbish in legal dumpsites and report any illegal dumping activity to their local councils.

For all those who could not make it to the event, Y4TE will be planning future clean ups in the area; keep updated on this and any other future events on the Y4TE facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/youthfortheenvironment
