Representatives from the South National Youth Councils within the EU recently held a meeting in Qala. There were representatives present from the National Youth Councils of Malta, Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Cyprus, Belgium, Slovenia, Serbia, Croatia and Romania.

The meeting was held in anticipation of the General Assembly of the European Youth Forum which is taking place next November in Maribor, Slovenia, where the Vice-President of the National Youth Council of Malta, Ryan Mercieca will be running for Board Member.

Common issues and topics were discussed such as the current situation of employment in Southern Europe and how it is affecting young people. As well as the importance of formal and non formal education.

The meeting, which was supported by the Ministry for Gozo, Directorate for Customer Services, was addressed by Fredrick Azzopardi, Parliamentary Assistant within the Ministry.
