The Don Bosco Oratory of Victoria, Gozo, is presenting a new musical in Maltese in the coming weeks about the classic story of the orphan boy who was brought up in a convent. ‘Il-Miraklu ta’ Marcellino.’

This is a new musical composed by Marco Frisina, the Director of the Vatican Orchestra and Choir and is based on the Spanish legend so popular in various Mediterranean countries.

The musical production is being staged locally for the first time having been translated into Maltese by Fr. Effie Masini. Vocal and musical arrangements have been entrusted into the capable hands of Mario Caruana and Pamela Bezzina, Saviour Cremona will be undertaking the stage-direction.

The main parts in ‘Il-Miraklu ta’ Mar-Ellino’ are being played by John Ellis, Maria Grech Magro, Mark Laurence Zammit, Ruth Portelli, Mario Caruana and Jamie Camilleri. There will be a cast of over 100 people taking part in the musical, including singers and dancers.

‘Il-Miraklu ta’ Marcellino’ promises to be a spectacular 2-hour show of song, music and dance and will be staged at the Don Bosco Theatre, in Victoria on Saturday, the 17th of November at 7.30pm, Sunday, the 18th of November at 2.30pm (matinee show) and on Saturday, the 24th of November at 7.30pm.

Other special shows for school children are being planned on the occasion of Universal Childrens Day.
