Mons. Charles J. Scicluna has been ordained this morning as Auxiliary Bishop and Titular Bishop of San Leone. The Pontifical Mass of Episcopal Ordination is currently being celebrated in St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.

Archbishop Paul Cremona O.P. is the Principal Consecrator, while Mons. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo and Mgr. Joseph Mercieca, Archbishop Emeritus, are the assisting Consecrating Bishops.

Mons. Charles J. Scicluna succeedes the late Mgr Annetto Depasquale, who passed away last November.
