Enemalta said this evening that a trip in a 132kv distribution cable had caused extensive power cuts in the north of Malta as well as across Gozo.
The cable tripped at around 5.30pm and Enemalta said that its engineers were working to locate the fault.
Power in areas of Gozo as well as parts to the north of Malta started to come back on at around 6.35pm this evening.
