The Nationalist Party has said in a statement that those journalists present at the earlier PL press conference this morning “were not given any documents to explain the energy proposals made.”
The PN also said the PL should publish any proposals, which includes those from its consultants etc. with details on any negotiations that took place and on which Dr Muscat said were “not a done deal.”
In a press conference held earlier this morning, the leader of the Labour Dr Joseph Muscat announced a rate of decrease in water and electricity bills to come into effect on the 1st of March 2014.
Electricity rates are to go down by up to 35% and water by 5%. Dr Muscat said a Labour Government would adopt the new energy policy and that there would be no need for any new tax.
The Labour Leader also confirmed that the PL in Government would also not raise any tax to make up for this reduction in utility bills.
