Industrial production in November decreased by 0.4%Provisional seasonally adjusted data issued by the National Statistics Office show that industrial production decreased by 0.4 per cent in November compared to the previous month. Industrial production adjusted for working days rose by 6.1 per cent when compared to the corresponding month of 2011.

The total industrial production index edged down from 107.8 points in October to 107.4 points in the subsequent month. The downward contributors resulted from a decline in the production of intermediate goods, energy and consumer goods of 1.4, 1.8 and 0.4 per cent respectively. On the other hand, the production of capital goods rose by 0.7 per cent.

Over the course of twelve months till November 2012, industrial production adjusted for working days went up by 6.1 per cent. Increases in production were registered in all main industrial groupings, the most notable being the production of intermediate and consumer goods, which advanced by 3.8 and 9.6 per cent respectively.
