GreenPak to discuss roadmap for 2013 with businessesAs a further measure to improve on the success garnered during 2012, GreenPak Cooperative Society will be organising an information meeting on Tuesday, the15th of January 2013 at 3.00pm at the Cooperatives Board building in Qormi.

The meeting will tackle various topics of interest to importers, distributors and manufacturers, including improvements on Warehouse Packaging Collections, Eco-Contribution Exemptions for 2013, as well as the benefits derived from the GreenPak Coop Patronage Refund including the distribution of the remaining surplus funds.

Ing Mario Schembri, GreenPak Coop CEO said, “Businesses producing packaging and packaging material have a legal obligation to recover and recycle a percentage of this packaging. This meeting is an open invitation to non-GreenPak members to see for themselves the direct benefits of joining GreenPak’s Compliance Scheme and be part of a successful cooperative that services over 1,300 companies.

“GreenPak constantly aims to recover and recycle as much waste as possible, and therefore reducing the amount of waste going to landfills. GreenPak also helps businesses, entrepreneurs and local councils be more aware of their rights and responsibilities, as well as offer them options to efficiently and effectively recover their waste at the least possible cost,” added Ing Schembri.

GreenPak Coop Society is a MEPA authorised scheme and is backed by PRO Europe, an umbrella organisation of 35 national producer responsibility systems engaged in the selective collection and recycling of packaging waste.
